GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR/PERSONAL TRAINER
Ottawa has always been my home and I feel very lucky to have been born in a city filled with nature. I love being active outdoors whether it be biking, Longboarding, running or snowboarding in the Winter.
I was always involved in several sports growing up – rugby, track, cross-country, volleyball – which brewed my passion for fitness. My path started straight out of high school coaching Jr. Girls volleyball. I did that for 5 years while going to school then moved on to teaching classes at commercial gyms and Personal Training. I was high on the feeling of helping someone change their life. My clients and students inspired me to continuously strive for more.
In 2009 I ran my first marathon. I did not do anywhere near as well as I wanted to but I finished and that was a success in itself. Later I ran another with my mom, stepdad and oma in Europe. I excelled my time by 30 minutes and retired from my marathon career. I felt short distances were more fitting for my body. In the mix I also tried new forms of fitness – martial arts, yoga, breakdancing, Cross Fit – and learned firsthand that there are unlimited ways to challenge your body and every body is different.
